Wellbeing, Social Progress and Social Investment - How Does NZ Rank and Fit with Policy Priorities
Girol Karacaoglu, Chief Economist of the NZ Treasury shared some of the key take outs from an international conference on social progress indicators that he attended, the rankings of various countries on Social Progress Indicators, where NZ is doing particularly well, lessons learnt from other countries’ experiences, and how this affects our policy priorities.
He highlighted the cross-Agency work on social investment, and how this fits in with the broader investment approach to policy, and the place of this work in improving overall wellbeing on a sustained and equitable basis.
