Digital Government
The Microsoft Award for Excellence in Digital Government recognises outstanding performance and achievement in the use of information and communications technologies in the daily business of government, to create opportunities for people to engage with government easily and in ways that suit them.
Criteria
The extent to which the project or organisation demonstrates:
- making it easy for citizens and/or businesses to digitally transact with government
- active involvement by people in design and decision-making across all the functions and roles of government service delivery
- embedding privacy and security in information management
- releasing information so that it is open by default, discoverable, accessible and re-useable for the public, third parties and/or other government agencies
- working with other agencies and external partners to share information, capabilities, and knowledge
- building a culture and workforce capability in digital innovation, connectedness, collaboration, in and between agencies
- mature assurance and risk thinking in the governance supporting digital outcomes
- creating occasions for people to engage directly with government on decision-making and policy design
- building an environment that allows all people to feel safe and confident operating in a digital world
- outcomes that ensure all New Zealanders are given the tools and skills to be able to share in the benefits of our digital future.
