Achieving Collective Impact

The State Services Commission (Te Komihana o Ngā Tari Kāwanatanga) Award for Excellence in Achieving Collective Impact recognises outstanding collaborative effort and performance, shared accountabilities and achievement of joint results for New Zealand and New Zealanders across clusters of agencies. Projects recognised under this award will enhance government’s engagement with communities and the delivery of accessible and responsive services to New Zealanders.

Criteria

The extent that the nominated initiative, project or programme:

  • demonstrates that agencies worked together to enhance government’s engagement with people and communities to better understand a complex problem and develop a common agenda
  • demonstrates innovative and collaborative redesign and delivery of services that place the needs of the customer at the heart of the initiative
  • demonstrates the development of joint results, and shared accountabilities, governance and decision making, across clusters of agencies
  • demonstrates mutually reinforcing activities where the agenda could not have been advanced, or the results achieved, by agencies retaining control of human, financial and other resources within their own silos
  • taking a collective impact view of results, demonstrates an understanding of and appreciation for the long-term impacts of today’s activities.
