Localism in Action: Implementing Well-being Frameworks

The Well-being budget introduced by Grant Robertson is a new step for Central Government. However, at the Local Government level, thinking about well-being has been embedded for a long time.

As with many of these concepts, implementing them, making them real for New Zealanders, is always the challenge.

Mike Reid from Local Government New Zealand will talk about the challenges and opportunities for putting well-being frameworks into action at a local level. He will draw on the experiences in a number of other countries, including Wales and Scotland. But he will also be very keen to know from you in the Auckland audience the lessons from your own experiences of what works. This is an opportunity for Mike to talk about localism and local democracy. It will be useful for central and local government people alike, and others who work close to communities in Auckland.
