Dr Peter Thompson, Associate Professor in the Media and Communication Programme at Victoria University of Wellington, will guide us through the minefield of “controlling the internet”. What is possible? Who should decide? What issues must be balanced? Can we intervene and if so, who and how could it be done?
This will be followed by some observations from Jared Mullen, Director Digital Safety, Te Tari Taiwhenua - Department of Internal Affairs, who will tell us more about what the public service can and is doing in the world of digital safety, providing some insights into public sector responses.
There will be time for Q&A at the end of the session, so come prepared with your questions.
