The Governance of Surveillance
In this session, Professor Webster, 2016 NZ-UK Link Foundation Visiting Professor from the University of Stirling, Scotland, outlined what it means to live in a surveillance society, with specific reference to how technologically mediated surveillance is governed, and how in a surveillance society public agencies become the guardians of our digital personas, and as such have a significant responsibility to ensure that the surveillance society works in our best interests.
