The Future of Migrant and Refugee Integration


The European migration crisis threw into sharp relief the need for new tools and strategic thinking in the area of migration management, refugee protection and immigrant integration. But while current integration challenges may seem significant, there are a number of growing challenges on the horizon. Public services are increasingly stretched thin—as both the demand for them and their cost rises, creating competition between marginalised groups.

Dr. Meghan Benton, Senior Policy Analyst at the Migration Policy Institute, a nonprofit think tank in Washington DC, discussed the likely integration challenges round the corner, and what more policymakers can do to plan for the next phase of integration policy.
