GOVIS Lunchtime Forum - Artificial Intelligence

All around the world, businesses and governments are deploying Artificial Intelligence. They are using AI to analyse and solve complex problems, to improve productivity, and to provide better and more personalised customer experiences.

Come along to this GOVIS Lunchtime Forum to find out what’s going on with AI in NZ Government. How are agencies using automation, machine learning, and other AI technologies? What are the key opportunities and risks?

We’ll hear from a panel of speakers with different perspectives on AI, including:

  • Dale Elvy from Stats NZ, who is leading the government’s algorithm review.
  • Ross Young from Google, who is an executive board member at the AI Forum.
  • Ploi Yibmantasiri from Harmonic, who has real life experience of implementing machine learning in the energy sector.
  • Pim Willemstein from MBIE, who will talk about the work he is leading on a cross-government digital concierge, and
  • A speaker from the automation team at Inland Revenue (TBC).

People who work for GOVIS member agencies will be given priority for places.

As usual, a light lunch will be provided.
