Information Architecture Fundamentals

Tutor: Judi Vernau

Information – both structured (data) and unstructured (documents, photos, etc) – is a crucial asset in any organisation, but how can it be designed, structured and classified to help organisations and their staff to make the most of that asset?

An information architecture can support information creation, findability, use, control and disposal by giving a holistic view of the information landscape and providing (primarily) semantic tools to support all aspects of the information lifecycle.

This two-day workshop will introduce participants to the design principles and approaches that underpin the creation of an architecture to support successful information systems and environments.

The course is suited to records, knowledge and information professionals and managers, as well as enterprise and other technical architects.
